From the Literature & Latte blog:
I think it’s in the customers’ interests to have a dedicated developer for each platform to ensure that each version is always kept up-to-date, and my hands are full with the Mac version. To that end, I’m very pleased to announce that we have just signed contracts with a developer, Jen Yates, to develop the iOS versions for us. Jen has been beavering away in secret for two or three months now, putting together some proof-of-concepts.
I have to say that moving index cards around on a touch screen is a lot of fun, and the corkboard implementation she has come up with is, I think, one of the nicest I’ve seen on a touch screen device in terms of selection and dragging.
It’s still early days, though – we are about to embark on the design process proper, and all we can say in terms of a release date is that our iPad and iPhone versions will be out some time in 2012.
The ability for Scrivener users to seamlessly work between Mac, IPad, and IPhone platforms will be a writer's dream.

Awesome.
Thanks for the heads-up :)
Glad to help Anna!
Yeah, I can't wait for the iPad version!
I've started doing a course and find that scrivener is a great help as I can keep all my lecture notes, assignments and relevant resources all in one place!
I recently got an iPad and have been taking that instead of the hefty MacBook Pro. However, I really miss not having Scrivener right there in front of me and I'm having to spend about half an hour after each lecture putting all the notes, website links, PDFs, PowerPoints, etc into Scrivener.
I've been impatiently checking the AppStore every couple of days in the hope that I will one day see the fabled Scrivener app on there.....
Any word when it will be released? It is now officially 2013!
I know Brent! This is the official statement from the end of December:
"An Update on the iOS Version
This time last year, I said that the big news for 2012 was that an iOS version of Scrivener was on its way. Some of you may be wondering what happened. Well, what happened is that a whole year of development has now gone into the iOS version, and it is shaping up very nicely. This time last year, it was a nothing but a whisper of a dream, some sketches and preliminary test code. A year on, we have a working iPad app. It’s not ready for release just yet, but it’s getting there. I understand how frustrating it can be, as an end-user, waiting for developers to put out something you are impatient to get your hands on, but it’s important we get our iOS version right. And I’m really pleased with where we are with it – the core functionality for which I developed Scrivener in the first place is all there.
2013 will be the year that Scrivener goes mobile, not only on the iPad, but on the iPhone too."
Hopefully it will be sooner than later in 2013!
As we move into 2014, is there an update on the iPad version?
